Unite a Nation is excited to announce the opening of Nehemiah Community House, a Transitional House for the homeless in South Los Angeles. The goal of the Nehemiah Community house is to repair, rebuild, reform, and refocus lives and the community.

Danielle Lafayette is a first generation college graduate and a first-generation homeowner from South Los Angeles, the community she serves. Ms. Lafayette is an Uplift California award-winning nonprofit leader, soccer mom, founder, and the Executive Director of Unite a Nation, Inc., a non-profit 501c3. Organization. She is the recipient of the Spirit of the Kings' award and medal in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr and Coretta Scott King to commit to social justice and advocacy. Ms. Lafayette gained attention as the Chair/President of a neighborhood Council. She is a highlight in the Los Angeles Times, the Wave Newspapers, and Charter/Spectrum news.
Ms. Lafayette has over 10 years of experience in community and economic empowerment, education, policy, housing, organizing, advocacy, and nonprofit leadership and sustainability.
As a community organizer, she uses public policy and organizing to empower communities to advocate for resources to close the student achievement gap and create pathways to success for students locally, statewide, and nationally.
Ms. Lafayette is an appointed METRO Board Citizen's advisory council member, Leadership Council Member for Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas' Empowerment Congress, and Community Funding Board member for the Liberty Hill Foundation. Danielle is a graduate of Dorsey High School, a public high school in Los Angeles. She is an All-American 400 meter athlete who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from California State University, D
ominguez Hills.
Additionally, Danielle Lafayette is a graduate of LAAAWPPI Los Angeles African American Women's Public Policy Institute, The congressional Black Caucus Institute for Organizing and Advocacy, and the Black Campaign School. Danielle is a first-generation homeowner in Los Angeles in the midst of gentrification
