Danielle Lafayette is the founder and Executive Director of Unite a Nation, Inc. Ms. Lafayette is a Uplift California award-winning nonprofit leader, soccer mom, championship coach, and athlete. She is the recipient of the Spirit of the Kings' award and medal in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, and Coretta Scott King for her commitment to social justice and advocacy. She was elected by her community as the Chair/President of a neighborhood Council, the Empowerment Congress West Area Neighborhood Development Council. She is a highlight in the Los Angeles Times, the Wave Newspapers, and Charter/Spectrum news.
Ms. Lafayette has over 10 years of experience in community and economic empowerment, advocacy, education equity, housing, and nonprofit leadership and sustainability.
As a community leader, she uses public policy and organizing to empower communities to advocate for resources to close the wealth and student achievement gap to create pathways for success locally, statewide, and nationally. She now uses her experience as an athlete and coach to break barriers in health and wellness for all people.
Danielle is a graduate of Dorsey High School, a public high school in Los Angeles. She is a 1st team All-American Track and Field athlete, who received awards such as MVP, Most Athletic, and Scholar Athlete of the Year. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Additionally, Danielle Lafayette is a graduate of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute for Organizing and Advocacy, the Black Campaign School, Social Justice Partners LA Systems Change Accelerator Fellowship, LISC Capacity Building Fellowship.
She is a first-generation college graduate and a first-generation homeowner in the midst of gentrification from South Los Angeles, the community she serves.
